MATERIALS
NATURAL; HONEST; ENDURING
Materials are at the heart of everything we create. Chosen for their character, integrity, and ability to age beautifully, each material brings its own story to a piece.
From the permanence of marble and the warmth of wood, to the precision of metal and the tactile softness of South African Merino wool, our palette celebrates natural variation, honest craftsmanship, and materials meant to be lived with.
Just Because; material matters.
Rosso Levanto
Quarried in Liguria, Italy, Rosso Levanto is a dramatic deep burgundy-red stone distinguished by fine white calcite veining and occasional green undertones. A true marble with an approximate Mohs hardness of 3–4, it brings rich color and striking movement to statement surfaces.
Ceppo Rossa
Ceppo Rossa is a warm red-toned, aggregate-like natural stone characterized by visible fragments and tonal variation that give every slab a distinctive architectural texture; exact quarry origin should be verified by supplier. Its hardness varies with composition, but comparable calcareous stones generally fall around 3–4 Mohs.
Fendi Red
Fendi Red is a richly colored red-to-burgundy natural stone, typically characterized by irregular pale veining and a luxurious, expressive surface; its exact origin can vary by supplier and trade designation. Depending on the specific quarry material, expect an approximate Mohs hardness of 3–4 for marble-based selections.
Travertine
Most famously quarried in Italy—particularly around Tivoli near Rome—travertine is a limestone distinguished by linear banding, natural pores and warm ivory, beige and earthy tones. Composed primarily of calcite, it has an approximate Mohs hardness of 3, with its characteristic voids contributing to its beautifully tactile appearance.
Sakara Pink
Sakara Pink is known for its warm blush, dusty-rose coloring and subtle tonal movement, creating a softer and more contemporary expression of natural stone; quarry origin should be confirmed with the individual supplier. As a marble, its approximate Mohs hardness is 3–4, making it beautiful for furniture and considered interior applications.
Tiramisu Marble
Tiramisu Marble is characterized by layered cream, caramel, mocha and brown tones reminiscent of its namesake, creating a warm and highly decorative surface; origin can differ depending on the commercial stone sold under this name. As a marble-type natural stone, expect an approximate Mohs hardness of 3–4, subject to the particular slab's mineral composition.
Emperador Brown
Originating in Spain, Emperador Brown is recognized for its deep chocolate-brown ground crossed by intricate cream and lighter calcite veining. This richly patterned limestone/dolomitic stone generally sits around 3–4 on the Mohs scale, with variation depending on composition.
Carrara White
Quarried in the Carrara region of Tuscany, Italy, Carrara White is celebrated for its soft white-to-light-gray background and delicate, feathery gray veining. Primarily calcitic marble, it measures approximately 3 on the Mohs scale and develops a graceful natural patina over time.
Emperador Light
Quarried in Spain, Emperador Light offers a softer interpretation of the Emperador family, with warm beige-to-caramel tones and delicate cream veining. Its approximate Mohs hardness is 3–4, combining visual warmth with the distinctive character of natural stone.
Calacatta Viola
Quarried in Italy's Apuan Alps, Calacatta Viola pairs a creamy white ground with bold, painterly veins of burgundy, violet, plum and warm gold. Its predominantly calcitic composition gives it an approximate Mohs hardness of 3, while its dramatic variation makes each slab distinctly individual.
Alpi Verdi
From Italy, Verde Alpi is an expressive deep-green stone defined by sweeping white calcite veins and dramatic variations from forest to almost black-green. Often commercially grouped with marbles but geologically associated with serpentinite, it typically measures around 3–5 Mohs, depending on its mineral composition.
Laurent Black Gold
Commonly associated with France and often sold as Noir Saint Laurent, this luxurious dark stone features a near-black to deep brown ground animated by fine white and striking golden veining. As a calcitic marble/limestone, it has an approximate Mohs hardness of 3–4 and is prized for its sophisticated, high-contrast character.
